Bottom of the Eighth

Its been a night of Twins homeruns of one sort or the other.   Twins scored their first run from an unlikely home run hitter, Jason Bartlett (now with 3 home runs for the season).  The second run for the Twins was scored by a home run by Torii Hunter (his 20th this season) in the seventh inning.  And here in the eighth, Joe Mauer hits an inside the park home run with two aboard, putting the Twins back in the lead 5-2.  Small ball, huh!?!

Top of the Ninth -

Another Joe (Nathan) comes into to nail the coffin lid down on the Angels.  1, blop hit, 2, 3; and that puts this game into the win column for the Twins!  Way to go Joes!

2nd Day in a row, Luis Castillo rules!!!

Yes, mister slap shot base hit machine has connected for his second triple in two days.  From the duggout we could see Redmond pointing to the "King" standing on third, mouthing "You are the man!"  Damn straight, Luis "King of the Castle" Castillo has put the game within tantalizing reach of the 
Twins here in the top of the ninth. And just so easily, Bartlett walks, and Mauer picks a base hit out of his many options for this at bat and delivers the winning RBI.

I guess I was prophetic yesterday - we did sweep the Athletics!!!
