Another Pitchers Duel for the Twins tonight

Santana vs Andrew Miller

Miller is a left hander - does this automatically doom the Twins? The Twins' track record against lefties this year has not been good. Miller has a good record this year so this should be a struggle. Of course his record is not as good as Santana's, but given the Twins lack of effective hitting against left handed pitching, we could see a repeat of last nights, zero runs for Minnesota.

Top of the fourth - Tigers break through to score 2 runs. Santana pitches us out of the inning with no further damage.

Bottom of the fourth Cuddyer gets a lead off single. Morneau strikes out (again), Hunter hits into a fielders choice, and then the incredible Non-Kubel is sent in to run for Hunter (who needs ice on a ham string). No, no, no, no - not the non-kubel one, but yes he's in the game, and now we can look forward to his non-defense and his non-offense. Oh joy in Twinkie town!!! - not!

Bottom of the fifth -

The incredible non-Kubel comes to bat with the bases loaded and two out. His stats say that you couldn't want anybody else coming up to bat here. He's supposedly 4 for 10 with the bases loaded. Tonight he comes up to bat against Miller, who in this inning had walked two and hit one batter. The incredible non-Kubel stands at the plate with his bat on his shoulder and takes THREE strikes to end the inning! Yes, stats do lie.
